This class will run Saturday September 21 from 3:00-5:00pm
The granny square is a timeless technique that is having an explosive moment right now as it is seen on so many celebrities and runways. The granny square is incredibly versatile, and while it is perfect to show off the colourful side of you, it is also perfect to introduce the use of texture when done in one colour. One granny square can be used as a coaster, a face cloth; join a couple and you have a little bag; join a series of them in a rectangle and you have a scarf or a blanket; join them in round and you have a neck warmer, a toque, or a sweater.
Come learn how to make a basic granny square and unleash the inner-designer in you!
This two hour class will cover the following skills: crochet in round, turning corners, changing colours, joining squares together.
Pre-requisite: beginner crochet skills are required. You should already know how to make a foundation chain, single & double crochet stitches.
Materials required, bring your own or buy at Bistitchual with a 10% discount in store:
- Worsted weight yarn in a few colours, and an appropriate hook
- Yarn cutter (scissors, snip, etc.)
- Yarn needle
Please note that classes will only proceed if we have a minimum of two attendees. If the minimum is not met, there will be the option for a refund or to reschedule.
There will be a six person maximum for each class.
Cancellation Policy
Classes must be paid for at the time of registration to reserve your spot.
- If cancelled 48 hrs or more prior to the start of the class will be given a store credit. Classes cancelled less than 48 hrs prior to the start of the class will not be reimbursed.
